HIIT for Health

Managing chronic diseases such as heart conditions and diabetes that hamper your quality of life requires much more than just visits to your physician. You also should take ownership of your health by staying in good physical condition.

We know you’re thinking, “That’s easier said than done.” That’s why at Human Performance Institute, we offer a medically supervised program that has true science behind it to make the most efficient use of your time and effort.

Human Performance Institute’s HIIT for Health program has been developed using athletic principles to improve your overall health and condition. HIIT stands for high intensity interval training. HIIT uses shorts bursts of activity followed by brief periods of rest. It’s the same techniques used to get the best out of athletes but customized to the needs of people with chronic health conditions.

The program is designed for individuals managing conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, pulmonary disease, movement and balance disorders, stroke and obesity. This form of exercise may improve:

  • Blood pressure
  • Lung capacity for breathing
  • Strength and endurance
  • Stability (decreased fall risk)
  • Metabolism
  • Glucose control
  • Quality of life

Classes are offered in 45- and 60-minute sessions. The cost is $5 per class, or $25 for unlimited monthly. (Monthly membership includes access to yoga and use of InBody.)

*A physician referral and physical therapy evaluation required prior to participation.
